PAUL J. STANKARD - Indian Pipe Botanical
This rare "Indian Pipe Botanical" by Paul J. Stankard is 5 1/4" tall and 2 3/4" at its widest point. It has a lifelike Indian Pipe plant with white flowers and a brown seed pod. It also has light brown roots and a dark brown speckled root pod. Underneath the root pod are two light brown figures lying next to a bright red raspberry with light green leaves on a sandy ground.

The entire design is encased in a clear crystal block with a smooth polished front, back, top and bottom. The two sides have an ice cube texture. There is also a reflection pool which shows the bottom of the sandy ground and raspberry seeds.

This Indian Pipe Botanical is signed "Paul J. Stankard 08 1990." IAG8002 - $9,500.00 - SOLD.

Please Note: Only approximately five Indian Pipe Botanicals were ever created by Paul Stankard. Two are in glass museums, one is in Mr. Stankard's personal collection, and two (including this one) are privately owned. Each one is unique (one-of-a-kind). Mr. Stankard considers this Indian Pipe botanical "one of the most interesting in the Indian Pipes Series." In fact, he donated this particular piece to the Wheaton Museum of American Glass, and it was auctioned off during one of the museum's special events in 1990.
