FEATURED ARTIST DANIEL SALAZAR
One of our favorite artists (and friend) is Daniel Salazar. He was born on August 8,
1956, in Del Rio, Texas. Danny moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1972. In
1974, he began his career in glass art working as a grinder for Nouveau Glass
which later became Lundberg Studios. By 1975, he was working with hot glass
as a helper or pontilman.

In 1978, Danny began designing and producing paperweights. He was also
involved with James and Steven Lundberg in creating the California-style
paperweight lampworking process. Danny continued his career with Lundberg
Studios developing a reputation for realistic floral paperweights, birds, underwater
scenes, and abstract designs.

Danny has a deep-rooted interest in botany, and collects Asian art and antiques.
This is reflected in his art. He also attended art classes at Cabrillo College to study
color, design, and life drawing.
